Cultural Heritage Baseline Surveys and Assessments

The Arabian Peninsula’s history spans over 100,000 years, leaving a legacy of tangible cultural heritage. These assets hold intrinsic, scientific, and tourism value, and are highly protected by governments and international organisations. Our services identify and assess cultural heritage resources to ensure they are appropriately managed.

Cultural Heritage Baseline Surveys and Assessments

With over 100,000 years of continuous human occupation spanning the paleolithic, Mesolithic, neolithic, and Iron Age to the Islamic period, the cultural heritage of Arabia is rich as it is subtle. Cultural heritage surveys are conducted by or supervised by professional archaeologists with decades of research experience in the region. Surveys use non-invasive techniques to document resources which are interpreted and assessed for importance and sensitivity as the basis for a Cultural Heritage management plan that includes guidance for chance-find procedures according to IFC Performance Standard 8.
